We need to develop more and more innovative ideas. This is where design thinking comes into play. A set of innovative working methods that can lead to disruptive results.
Design Thinking describes a multitude of innovation methods. Especially through the many design sprints we have conducted, we have a lot of experience with a wide variety of design thinking methods. See two of our favorites below!
At coac, we started in 2012 with our first public Design Thinking workshops. Since then, we have invented the concept of enterprise Design Sprint, founded our co-creation space akkuraum and kept optimizing our initiative to create digital prototypes in the context of complex technology.
The old solutions no longer lead to substantial progress. We need to develop more and more innovative ideas.

The Hypothesis is a design thinking method we like to use in the "Empathize" phase of our design sprint to elaborate a common ground for the problem being challenged. Every participant writes down a hypothesis on how to approach the issue. In the following two participants form a group to create a shared hypothesis, which is then discussed with another group. In the end, the two groups remaining present their hypotheses and create a final hypothesis together.
The 635 method is a design thinking method we like to use in the "Define"-phase of our design sprint. Six participants write – within five minutes – three ideas on separate flashcards in complete and concise sentences. Wild ideas are encouraged. After five minutes the worksheets are passed on to the next person, upon which each participant writes down another 3 ideas. The ideas have to add on to the previous ideas or suggest improvements. With this constant, unrestrained flow of thoughts, the 635-method is resulting in 108 ideas which will be further elaborated
Design thinking enables one to think outside of conventions to create truly disruptive innovation.
To tackle increasingly complex problems, design thinking enables participants of different expertise and backgrounds to find the best solutions
Inspired by design thinking methods, we created our own unique design sprint concept to create a digital prototype within six working days.
